Family Clothes Closet
The clothes closet is open to the community twice a year and provides new and gently used clothing to area families, as well as providing assistance in emergency situations. The Westport Family Clothes Closet (FCC) opens its doors each spring and fall to distribute clothing to hundreds of adults and children in need at no cost.
Clothing of all kinds is requested. Children’s clothes are always of particular interest and go quickly. Love offerings of monetary donations, which are used to purchase new underwear for children, will also be accepted.
There is never a charge for any of the clothing or items at the FCC. There will be no personal questions regarding income or identification. The only thing shoppers are asked is the number of people for whom they are shopping. Participation is open to all area families and clothing sizes will range from infant to adult, with every size in between. A limit of five bag of clothing per family has been set and people are expected not to take more than they need, ensuring that there will be enough for everyone.
